Anthropocene: A New Era of Fashion, First Site 2017

The textile suite created for this exhibition considered the ways in which our plastic detritus might continue to evolve and thrive in a world rendered inhospitable to human life. Each specimen explores the biological traits that our refuse might develop as a means of survival; features such as porous skin, protective hair, tissue generation and predator defence.

This work was interested in situating our own lifecycle within the much longer context of our material legacy.
