Spectacle

The Gentle Going Hour, Melbourne Design Week co-curated by Billie Civello & Georgia Smedley

Spectacle is a nod to Laura Mulvey’s 1975 essay ‘Visual Pleasure & Narrative Cinema.’ Hand-knotted using synthetic filament, Spectacle sits somewhere between a hair flick and a swathe of silk falling to the floor. It’s about human movement and the desires which propel it.
